The December edition of the Jazz & Dance club series at Koko Jazz Club features Minna Tervamäki.
Minna Tervamäki is a multiple award-winning ballet dancer and an étoile at the Finnish National Ballet. During her over 20-year career she has been seen in almost every principal role of the canon of classical ballet and in numerous productions from some of the most distinguished contemporary dance choreographers. After retiring from the Finnish National Ballet in 2012, she has focussed more and more on productions that combine multiple media or forms of art.
As a choreographer, she debuted in 2005, and she has collaborated over the years with the likes of violinist Pekka Kuusisto, pianist Heini Kärkkäinen, flamenco dancer and choreographer Kaari Martin, accordion artist Kimmo Pohjonen and multi-media artist Marita Liulia. She has been awarded with, among others, Philip Morris Dance Flower Award in 2007, Edvard Fazer Award in 2000 and Imatra Ballet Gala award in 2009.
Music for the veteran dancer will be provided by the chameleon-like Aki Rissanen, star trumpeter Verneri Pohjola, phenomenal Joonas Riippa and the trusted man of the house Timo Hirvonen.

The year 2015 is the 100th anniversary
of the wonderful Édith Piaf. To honor the jubilee year, Culture Salon’s
stage is taken over by Tia Cohen and L’orchestre Noir with their
anniversary show. Conductor Tuomo Wäinölä leads the orchestra of five
musicians.

Jim Campilongo (USA)
American guitarist Jim Campilongo performs the material of his new album, the lauded Dream Dictionary, at Malmitalo. The San Francisco -native's style has been described, for example, as 'cowboy jazz' but also a heavy cinematic ingredient can be discerned in his music.
In this concert, he will be accomponied by Finns bassist Vesa Saloranta and drummer Johan Ölander.
