The Herd trio comprised of vibes player Panu Savolainen, bassist Mikko Pellinen and drummer Tuomas are well known in the Finnish jazz scene for both their brilliant musical chemistry as a group as well as for their varied collaborations with some of Finland’s finest artists, like the popular Jazzbasilli -project with renowned singer Aili Ikonen. After this colourful musical journey, for their 10th anniversary it’s time for Herd to return to their roots of multifaceted, melancholic and beautiful trio playing. The group are celebrating their anniversary with the release of a new album of all original material, X. The record is a culmination of the band’s journey through the years and proudly showcases their creative use of studio technology while fully embracing their powerful acoustic swing.
