The seven-piece ensemble The Watercolors paints elegant jazz watercolors. With a palette enriched by strings and oboe, the ensemble explores the changing shades of Western classical music and European contemporary jazz.

Formed in 2018, The Watercolors interprets the compositions of woodwind player Janne Saarinen. The septet's unique lineup features oboe, violin, viola, cello, vibraphone, double bass, and drums. The band's melodic music combines spontaneous improvisation, rich harmonies, and groovy rhythms, along with the translucent tonal colors familiar from classical music.

The Watercolors released their self-titled debut album in 2021. With their latest release, La grande odyssée, The Watercolors continue their strong and refreshing musical exploration.
