Kalevi Louhivuori (b. 1984) is one of the most internationally acclaimed, award-winning and well-known Finnish trumpet players. Over the years, the musician, known for his mature and distinctive sound, has made waves in various genres as a band leader, composer and musician. A Tribute to Louis Armstrong concert pays homage to the roots music innovator who, with his trumpet and scat vocals, paved the way for jazz in a new era. Louis Armstrong was also one of the most beloved entertainers of his era and a favorite of even the general public. The program is based on new arrangements by LBB conductor and artistic director Erno Tiittanen, which, according to Louhivuori, bring a "new twist" to familiar songs.
