Percussion artist Mika Kallio‘s fourth solo album Gong Odyssey was released in June 2022. The protagonist of the longplay’s journey is, self-proclaimingly, gong. Or multiple gongs. The compositions sway and wobble between electro-ambient and improvised music. For the Jazz Federation tour, Kallio has assembled a fine combo of versatile musicians, who also master the pious art of gongs, aside from their main instruments.

Mika Kallio – gongs and synthesizer
Jussi Fredriksson – gongs and synthesizer
Jaska Lukkarinen – gongs, synthesizer, percussions
Max Zenger – bass clarinet, double bass clarinet, percussions

American jazz guitar virtuoso Jonathan Kreisberg and Slovenian piano phenomenon Marko Churnchetz celebrate the 12-year anniversary of Pori's international live music engine Validi Karkia Club.

"Jonathan Kreisberg is a jazz guitarist who I'm pretty sure has some shred in his past – he just evolved to become a straight-ahead jazz player. He's cool because he's got all the chops that shred guys like, but his use of harmony and phrasing, his polyphonic work and ability to compose interesting tunes is incredible. He even has a solo release out that is liter= ally just guitar, which is one of the hardest things to do." - Tosin Abasi/Animals As Leaders
