Arttu Takalo is offering a magnificent series of duo concerts with changing guests for the autumn. In the Monday Matinee series hosted by Takalo, on September 18th, the guest will be Riikka Keränen.

Arttu Takalo is a vibraphonist and composer. He has composed for choirs, big bands, chamber orchestras, and symphony orchestras, and has also created music for films. Riikka Keränen, born in Oulu, creates modern compositions heavily inspired by jazz, with evocative lyrics and narrative storytelling through improvisation at the forefront.

The delightful concert of Unelmatrio is coming to Kairo - around the world in 90 minutes!

In September 18th, Kairo will enjoy a high-quality concert seasoned with humor. Guided by Tuula Krzywacki, Unelmatrio embarks on a world tour through jazz music. The trio effortlessly breaks Phileas Fogg's record and circumnavigates the globe in 90 minutes!

"The idea for the concert started brewing years ago when actual traveling was on hold. Through music, one can travel the world affordably and carbon-neutral. Skilled musicians, a twinkle in the eye, and a bit of luck are needed," says Tuula.

Playing in Unelmatrio is Petri Krzywacki on the guitar and on the bass setting the rhythm is Joonas Tuuri.

"We've played Brazilian music with Joonas on a tour, but this time we won't be lingering in the southern warmth. Beloved melodies transport the listener from the streets of Stockholm through London, to New Orleans, from California to Brazil, and further to the Caribbean islands."

The trio ventures into the Sahara Desert and even makes a quick stop in China. Eventually, the jazz compass guides the musicians back to Europe and their homeland.

"I can't think of a better place than Kairo to present this ensemble. Kairo has been a launching point for journeys before. I welcome the wonderful audience of Kotka to our lively concert."
