Jazz Finland Live
Eero Koivistoinen Quartet – Kotka jazz ry 45-vuotta juhlailta @ East Coast Jazz Club,Ravintola Kairo, kotka25.9. At 19:00
The collective playing of the Eero Koivistoinen Quartet, founded in 2012, has become seamless over the course of 10 years. The groove of the musicians, well-known from various top ensembles, is airy, tight, and firm. The rhythmic pairing of Jori Huhtala and Jussi Lehtonen adds a wonderful drive to the whole, and pianist Alexi Tuomarila gets to shine. Above all, reigning supremely is the saxophone of the legendary figure in Finnish jazz, maestro Eero Koivistoinen.
The quartet has released three albums: "Hati Hati" (2012), "Illusion" (2017), and "Diversity" (2022).
The concert celebrates the 45-year journey of Kotka Jazz ry.
