The Tuomo Uusitalo Trio, led by pianist Tuomo Uusitalo, will perform on Musiikkitalo's summer terrace.

The Tuomo Uusitalo Trio, formed by Uusitalo, who was last year’s Pori Jazz Artist of the Year, bassist Juuso Rinta and drummer Roope Kantonen, represents a traditional but modern piano trio sound. The ensemble’s gig set includes jazz standards and original compositions written by all three members.

“Uusitalo evokes the rapid-fire élan of Bud Powell, unassuming earthiness of Red Garland and economy of Thelonius Monk.” – The New York City Jazzrecord

“Uusitalo’s music reflects classical music while also retaining a sense of jazz improvisation.” – Jazz Views
