Jazz Finland Live

Accomplished US jazz guitarist Marc Ribot performs a live solo gig at G Livelab Helsinki in November 2022. During his over 40-year career Ribot has released 25 albums under his name and performed with various groups, exploring a vast range of music styles from free jazz and soul to noise rock. For his solo gig the audience is in for a wayward night full of enigmatic soundscapes and intricate improvisations.

New York based artist Ka Baird travels to Helsinki for a one of a kind 5-day residency, which is set to yield unexpected new music each time – and different each time. Chris Williams, a collaborator to the likes of Pink Siifu and Alabaster DePlume, and a top billing artist in his own right, will shuffle things up with Ka on this very special Tuesday.

Helsinki-based fusion jazz band Dynamic Dynamic is an ensemble built on the joint play of two guitars and a rhythm section, relying on strong melodic expression and an open soundscape, without forgetting surprising sounds.

The songs on the debut album are composed by the band's guitarist Jaakko Penttilä and arranged by the band, and strongly represent new wave Nordic instrumental music. The other players in the lineup are Jere Mäntykangas (guitar), Samu Jaantila (bass) and Tuomas Karlsson (drums).
