The anniversary highlights Finnish jazz and its artists both in Finland and abroad, celebrating jazz as part of Finland’s cultural heritage. The Jazz in Finland 100 campaign is coordinated by the Finnish Jazz Federation.

Aili Ikonen & Jukka Perko: Klasstet

Acclaimed vocalist Aili Ikonen joins forces with saxophonist Jukka Perko. Their new high-level ensemble Klasstet reimagines some of the most beloved works of classical music through a vibrant and jazz-infused lens. Familiar melodies from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker to Grieg’s Peer Gynt are presented with brand-new Finnish lyrics written by leading lyricists. These poetic texts and jazz arrangements give the classics fresh depth, warmth, and an entirely new expressive dimension.
